Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Batter

  • In a mixing bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  • Add the sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt, then mix well.

Step 2: Add Wet Ingredients

  • Stir in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk until a thick batter forms.
  • If the batter seems too runny, add a little more flour; if too thick, add a splash of milk.

Step 3: Heat the Oil

  • In a deep pan or skillet, heat about 1 inch of oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  • You can test the oil by dropping a small spoonful of batter, if it sizzles and rises, the oil is ready.

Step 4: Fry the Fritters

  • Carefully drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  • Fry for about 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

Step 5: Drain and Serve

  • Remove the fritters with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

Step 6: Add Toppings

  • Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with honey, or serve with maple syrup for extra sweetness.
